An opportunity has arisen within Specialist Services for three Registered Mental Health Staff Nurses to gain valuable experience working within the Richardson Eating Disorders Service (REDS) on our inpatient unit.

Ward 31a is a five bedded mixed adult specialist eating disorder unit, located within the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

We are looking for highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic individuals who are interested in developing their knowledge and skills in this highly unique and specialist service.

In-house training will be delivered by members of our multi-disciplinary team in order broaden knowledge within the field of eating disorders, looking at both psychological and physical health needs. A robust supportive supervision system is in place.

They will need to possess excellent communication skills and be able to contribute effectively to the existing multi-disciplinary team.

REDS provides comprehensive assessment and treatment for adults with moderate and severe eating disorders in the North East of England. The ward works closely with REDS Intensive Day Service.
