An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join the Dispensing & Treatment Team (DaTT) in Cardiff and Vale UHB as a Clinical Nurse Specialist Non-Medical Prescriber.

The DaTT, part of the wider Community Addictions Unit (CAU) provides daily dispensing of opiate substitution to adults with issues related to drug dependence and following comprehensive assessment, also offers a variety of therapeutic interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team.

As part of that multidisciplinary team you will take the lead on initiating and reviewing prescribing for a variety of clients with substance misuse issues, working within the organisations clear formulary as well as your own competencies. You will be committed to taking a positive, holistic and empowering approach with service users, enabling them to work on their own recovery capital and supporting them to move into long term recovery. This will be achieved by delivering appropriate clinical interventions, using a range of approaches and working effectively with partner agencies.

Excellent communication and clinical skills will be required as well as the ability to work jointly and in collaboration across agencies including criminal justice, primary care, local authority and the 3rd /voluntary sector.

The successful candidate will have a first level RMN Nursing Qualification with sufficient post registration experience and will be expected to work as part of a busy multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team in providing a high quality service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
