All successful applicants will be required to complete the Trust’s induction programme. The Fundamental (Statutory and Mandatory) training will be in an e-learning format. You will be required to complete training modules online (approx. 9-14 hours depending on post) in your own time prior to any unconditional offer being made.


Birmingham Healthy Minds (BHM) is the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Service working in Birmingham Primary Care with GPs. We deliver psychological therapies to people with common mental health problems as part of a Stepped Care Model.

Birmingham Healthy Minds is a well-established and excellent service that continues to offer high quality; evidence based psychological interventions for our identified populations working closely with our local Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG’s)

We are looking to recruit qualified Psychological Practitioners with energy, drive and ambition to provide excellent high quality and time limited psychological interventions in accordance with NICE guidelines to patients presenting with Depression and Anxiety Disorders at Step 3. In order to apply for this post it is essential that you have a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. We will consider applicants who are in training for this qualification and nearing completion of their course.

BHM are seeking to appoint flexible and highly motivated Psychological Practitioners in order to provide high intensity treatment options. As a Practitioner working for BHM you will be expected to deliver interventions using a variety of mediums including individual face-to-face therapy sessions and therapeutic groups. You will also have the opportunity to develop your assessment skills through the variety of entry pathways we offer to our clients. Working with Birmingham Healthy Minds you will play an active role in reducing the stigma of common mental health problems by participating in mental health promotion in the wider community.

BHM encourages professional development which includes internal and where viable external training opportunities. We actively encourage our Psychological Practitioners to become champions for specialist interests and share this expertise with their colleagues.

We provide regular caseload management, good clinical skills supervision and believe that fidelity to the IAPT model along with highly motivated and skilled workforce are key components to our continuing success. We provide sufficient clinical supervision to support our practitioners to gain accreditation with the BABCP.

The service has strong clinical and operational leadership and is innovative in service planning and delivery. Our staff report that they feel part of a supportive team that fosters a nurturing and caring environment to work in. We believe that staff well-being is paramount to providing excellent patient care.

Birmingham Healthy Minds is an extremely busy service that covers Birmingham GP practices. The service operates flexible working hours from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and some Saturdays. Commitment to being available to work some of these hours as per your contracted hours and service needs is necessary. Part time applications will be considered
