Our Infrastructure Team is responsible for maintaining and developing the network, server, telephony and cybersecurity environments at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals Trust. Our estate covers Sandwell General Hospital, City Hospital, Rowley Regis Hospital, Birmingham Midland Eye Centre, Lesowes Intermediate Care Centre, a number of GP surgeries and the brand new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital currently being built.

Our Infrastructure supports around 4500 clinicians by ensuring they have the tools available to them so they can deliver first rate care to all of our Trust users.

Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals Trust requires a Junior Server Engineer reporting into the Head of Infrastructure. The post holder will be required to provide third line technical support for the server environments on and off-site used to support staff within the Trust across a number of system areas such as, MS Server, VMware, Hyper-V, Veeam and SCCM. This includes following the ITIL model and working collaboratively on the resolution of incidents, problems, requests, events and significant service disruptions.

This is an exciting time for the Infrastructure Team at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals Trust . We're just starting to embark on our cloud compute journey through VMC on AWS, are busy working on the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital due to go live in June 2022 and are drawing up plans to overhaul and reconfigure the City Hospital IT infrastructure.
