Woking Community Hospital
£31,365 - £37,890 + 5% HCA

CSH Surrey is Surrey’s largest and longest established NHS community services provider (since 2006). We are part of the NHS, so our 1500+ employees get NHS pay and pensions, and also receive the Fringe ‘High Cost Allowance’ of 5%.

Our nurses, therapists and support staff provide adult community health services in the mid and north west Surrey areas, and children’s community health services for the whole of the county. Together we serve a population of more than 1 million people.

In June 2017 our services received an overall ‘Good’ rating from the CQC, with ‘Outstanding’ for how caring our teams are.

We provide excellent training and development opportunities, including the care certificate, apprenticeships, numeracy and literacy courses, access to the Nursing Associate programme, and a wide variety of management and leadership courses and programmes. We also offer a supportive preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses and a well-established rotational programme for therapists. Our nurses and therapists also benefit from access to bespoke clinical skills courses.

If you want to be part of a passionate, person-focused community service, apply to CSH Surrey today!

Band 6 SLT, Community Adult SLT team - 12 months fixed term - approx until Nov 2021

As part of our Covid-19 response we have 3 new posts in our community service and are looking for suitably experienced Band 6 Speech & Language Therapists to join our established team. These posts are 1 year fixed term contracts, with potential for extension.

We are looking for Speech and Language Therapists with the required clinical knowledge and skills to work independently with patients who have communication and swallowing difficulties associated with acquired neurological conditions such as stroke, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

Our team is based in Woking Community Hospital and works across the North West Surrey area in our out-patient clinic, community hospital wards and domiciliary settings. We are a supportive team committed to delivering high quality patient care and we share a wide range of experience and expertise. We regularly meet for clinical supervision, peer support and professional development and encourage continuous learning.

We are focused on service development and act on ideas that will improve patient care wherever possible. We are currently preparing to launch a new community FEES service which will provide huge benefits to our patients and also recently produced a dysphagia training video to support patients and their carers to develop skills in supportive feeding techniques (this is available to view via the CSH website).

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent clinical knowledge and a strong interest in community working. Access to a range of continuing professional development activities will be made available in line with agreed personal and team objectives.

As this is a community service that covers a large geographical area, being a driver is very much preferred but applications from non-drivers are welcome.
