The older persons inpatient teams are looking for an experienced and motivated Clinical Psychologist to take on the 8b Lead Psychologist role for a period of maternity leave. The post is based within the acute and dementia services at the Julian Hospital in Norwich.

Its an exciting opportunity for someone experienced to broaden their knowledge and skill base and to bring existing skills and knowledge to the teams. The post involves providing a psychology service to the four wards at the Julian hospital. The service caters for both people with dementia and people with acute mental health difficulties. Work will involve a mixture of individual work, group work, consultation, training, and supervision. The post is full time but we also welcome applications from people who may wish to work part- time or job share.

You will be working in a friendly and supportive service which values supervision and the importance of professional and personal development. There are good formal and informal support networks with other Clinical Psychologists working within this specialism both within the Trust and across the region.

The Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is a large organisation serving the population of Norfolk and Suffolk. The Trust provides plenty of opportunities to become involved in teaching, training and research. The Trust has a close relationship with the University of East Anglia and offers placements for trainee Clinical Psychologists on the Doctoral Training Programme and opportunities to become involved with the Programme. There is also a thriving research network with a focus on dementia with both a dedicated Trust post and shared appointments between the UEA and the Trust. This provides an excellent network to tap into for anyone interested in research.

Norfolk is a great place to live. Norwich is a vibrant city, the first UNESCO City of Literature and with an excellent range of shopping, cultural activities and entertainment. Norfolk has easy access to beautiful coastline and the Broads National Park.

This post requires registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist.

This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
