An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated Band 7 Occupational Therapy Lead to join the Leadership team within the service.

We have an opportunity for a permanent, full time, Band 7, Highly Specialised Occupational Therapist team leader within our Rapid Response Service to work alongside the existing leads, providing line management and supervision support to our staff. This would suit someone who is looking at developing their leadership skills and gain more experience in a Band 7 role.

The Rapid Response and Home First Service works as part of a multi-disciplinary team working closely with Transfer to Assess, the Integrated Discharge Team and the Integrated Community Care Teams on the Wirral.

The post holder will lead on complex patient assessments, management tasks and meetings. They will take a lead in clinical development, teaching and appraisal of junior therapists and assistants whom are working with patients with a wide variety of both physical and mental health conditions as well as complex social issues.

This role will involve collaborative working and taking leadership responsibility within our experienced multi-disciplinary teams- MDTs, to ensure best possible outcomes are achieved for patients, their carers and families. You will attend regular meetings and ensure that the team maintain patient centred care, ensure timely flow out of the service and prevent avoidable admissions to hospital and long term care, and be actively involved in the service development.

You will need to have significant relevant post graduate NHS experience, preferably within home based community rehabilitation and have a good understanding of risk management and moving and handling. Excellent communication skills and an ability to prioritise a large caseload of complex patients are essential.

Current HCPC registration with the relevant therapy qualification is essential to this post.

Travel is an essential part of this role and therefore access to a car for work purposes is essential.
