The Solent PALS and Complaints Service has an opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our friendly team as a PALS and Complaints Co-ordinator. The successful applicant will be responsible for helping to manage the complaints process, whilst working with services and keeping people who have complained up to date with regards to their formal complaint, as well as helping to deal with a wide range of enquiries relating to Solent NHS Trust, and local providers.

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, empathic, and has a high level of listening and communication skills. Your role will be to provide impartial support to patients, frontline staff, managers and colleagues during the complaints process. The successful candidate will need to be able to work as part of a small team, as well as being able to work on their own initiative, helping to support staff to respond to formal complaints, in accordance with Trust policy and procedures, and NHS legislation and guidelines and within statutory timelines.

We are looking for someone who is dedicated, can communicate effectively at all levels, both with staff, as well as patients, including the ability to remain calm when under pressure, especially when sometimes having to have difficult conversations. You must be highly organised and able to deal positively with changing workload priorities, and have a good understanding of handling confidential information. Attention to detail and being able to work as part of a fast paced team is essential.

This opportunity is part time, for 15 hours per week.
