Linked Band 7/8a Sonographer- Maternity & Gynaecology

Part time/Full Time ( 37.5 hours) posts

Pay Scale Linked Band 7/8a

We are looking for sonographers with excellent obstetric and gynaecology skills who are interested in expanding their scope of practice to come and work within our friendly team.

Ashford & St Peter’s NHS Trust Maternity & Gynaecology is based across two sites with the main department situated at St. Peter’s Hospital KT16 0PZ and a smaller one at Ashford Hospital, TW15 3AA.

There are eight ultrasound rooms in total across both sites, all of which have E8/ E10 GE machines – the equipment is less than five years in age. A range of obstetric examinations from early pregnancy to term are performed, including maternal and fetal doppler studies, together with 3D TV gynaecology scans. Training can be provided for these techniques. We independently report and triage all our obstetric and gynaecological examinations. CPD is actively encouraged and supported.

We are committed to the delivery of a high quality service; the successful candidates will have the chance to make full use of their experience and skill in a supportive environment. We are a friendly multidisciplinary team with three of our obstetric consultants - who specialise in fetal medicine, maternal medicine, and multiple pregnancies - being fully committed to the continuing development of our dynamic department. We also have close ties with our tertiary referral centre at St. George’s Hospital, London.

The successful candidate will be developed to achieve an AFC Band 8a following completion of a competency assessment.

There will be a practical test at interview.

Applicants must be HCPC registered, hold a Postgraduate Diploma/Certificate in Medical Ultrasound and ideally be DQASS registered.

We would very much like to hear from you if would like to meet us or discuss an application.

Please contact Melanie Mawby or Lisa Longley (Lead Sonographers) on 01932 722670/2665.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship

Applications from job seekers who require current Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications.
