Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) is the largest health organisation in Wales, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health and acute hospital services for a population of around 678,000 people across the six counties of North Wales. We are seeking to recruit a dynamic motivated individual who will provide highly specialised professional advice, consultancy, clinical expertise and leadership to patients, carers and Health Board staff. The post holder will demonstrate expert advanced skills and competencies to directly influence the delivery of programmes of care across the full range of care providers of the health and social care economy.

We are looking for a passionate creative, and strategic nurse consultant with significant expertise in Dementia Care and a proven record of leadership, change management and innovation to work in a culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include education and training, alongside professional leadership and consultancy.

The post holder will initiate research in the field of Dementia Care to ensure that evidence based practice is inherent in all aspects of service delivery. They will maintain clinical excellence in the field of dementia care through the dissemination of knowledge across the Health Board, partnership groups/organisations and stakeholders.

The post holder will engage in the development and leadership of training initiatives within the Health Board focused on dementia care, supporting excellence in clinical practice. They will initiate and support research in the field of Dementia Care to ensure that evidence based practice is inherent in all aspects of service. In order to facilitate the generation of high quality research the post holder will hold an honorary role with the School of Health Sciences, Bangor University, focused on the Ageing & Dementia Bangor/Dementia Services Development Service (DSDC) research centre, as part of the Bangor Institute for Health and Medical Research (BIHMR).
