An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 full time Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor posts in the Occupational Therapy service based at Bowmere Hospital, Chester. The successful applicant will be working with adult mental health service users on the acute care wards and within the Occupational Therapy department (Clarion Centre). The Occupational Therapy service aims to support service users toward independence and safe discharge, using a person centred approach.

The postholder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver a varied programme of therapeutic activities, facilitate daily living assessments and interventions, and help to maintain the Clarion Centre.

We are looking for a caring, adaptable and creative individual who is committed to promoting wellbeing and recovery for people experiencing mental illness.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication and team work skills, good organisational skills and evidence of relevant experience. The postholder will have a keen understanding of person centred working and the 6 Cs, and how to apply these within an acute care mental health setting.

This post is full time, Monday – Friday. To meet service need, later work shifts may be required on some days up until 7pm– this would be negotiated and would be planned ahead as a regular shift pattern. We support continuing professional development and clinical supervision.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 3 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).
