Head of Nursing

Mental Health and Learning Disabilities

£53,168-£62,001 (Band 8B)

This full-time post is an exciting opportunity to get involved in the development of modern Mental Health services to meet the needs of the local population.

We are seeking candidates who:

  • Are highly motivated, experienced and dynamic senior leaders that are looking for their next challenge

  • Have the desire and passion to drive improvement

  • Want to play a major role in the development of the nursing workforce within metal health and learning disabilities

  • Have a proven track record of delivering on agreed objectives, targets and quality standards whilst working within resource controls and restraints

This is a key role in the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Division and the post holder will be a member of the MH&LD Division senior leadership team. The Head of Nursing will be responsible for the professional leadership and management of Nursing / other professional clinical staff in the Division.

The Head of Nursing will work closely with the Director of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities and the Deputy Director of MH&LD. They have joint responsibility for the effective delivery of quality, financial and operational performance of the Division, including ownership of key clinical quality performance targets and measures for the service. Service specific aims, objectives and KPI’s will be agreed in the post holder’s personal appraisal.

The post holder will have extensive knowledge of nursing and expert practice within Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, and an effective professional network to provide expert, wide ranging professional nursing and clinical advice.
