Clinical Fellow in Cancer Genetics

This post provide an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic clinician seeking to gain experience in Cancer Genetics as part of the team at the North East Thames Regional Cancer Genetics Service based at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

The post holder will have the opportunity to gain comprehensive clinical experience in Cancer Genetics as part of a multidisciplinary team serving patients from Central, North and East London, as well as throughout Essex.

Whilst based at the GOSH site in Bloomsbury, the post holder may be asked to deliver clinics at other hospitals based in Central London or Essex. GOSH uses a fully integrated Electronic Patient Record system and the post holder will be provided with the equipment required to deliver a proportion of consultations remotely.

GOSH hosts the North Thames Genomic Laboratory Hub (GLH) which offers core germline Cancer Genetic testing services and is one of three nationally commissioned laboratories which will offer specialist Inherited Cancer Genetics germline testing. This post will provide the chance to work with scientists in a MDT setting to gain experience in interpretation of genomic germline and somatic testing data in the management of cancer patients, and for inherited cancer risk assessment in relatives.

This post would be most suited to those interested in pursuing a career in Clinical Genetics or Oncologists wishing to gain specialist experience in Cancer Genetics. This post will commence February 2021.
