Mountbatten Group (Mountbatten Isle of Wight and Mountbatten Hampshire)

Salary circa £65,000 per annum

Over the last year, Mountbatten Isle of Wight and Mountbatten Hampshire (formerly Countess Mountbatten Hospice Southampton), have developed a unique partnership, with one senior management team leading both organisations. The Mountbatten Group’s mission is to deliver the highest standard of care and support to patients and their families, and constantly strive to ensure we reach as many people as possible, whenever and wherever they may need us. The Mountbatten Group serves a combined population of approximately 750,000 and covers the Isle of Wight, Southampton, and large parts of West Hampshire. It is a registered charity and company.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a positive and highly motivated individual to lead our Human Resources function and to support the delivery of a new, innovative, challenging five-year strategy which focuses on the further development of a new model of hospice care which will concentrate on reaching more people, care coordination, our key messages and story, volunteers, partnerships and integration and survival and sustainability.

We are seeking a Director of Human Resources to join our highly motivated Senior Management Team. The postholder will be professionally qualified and ideally a Fellow of CIPD with Board level experience and a solid background in operational management with the ability to combine a strategic overview with a practical operational approach. The postholder will be a proven senior HR professional with extensive senior management experience of leading and developing a Human Resources team and experience of managing and advising on matters related to complex employment relations. The successful postholder will have the skills to deliver a high quality, values driven HR service within a health care setting.

This is a key role in the strategic planning and people management of the organisation that underpins the mission, vision and values of Mountbatten.

The postholder will demonstrate their expertise and experience in working with colleagues at all levels, identifying change and taking a strategic lead for all aspects of developing and implementing workforce planning and change across the organisation.

Though the role is currently based at our Head Office on the Isle of Wight, you will be working across both sites on the Isle of Wight and Southampton. The postholder will lead the delivery of personnel strategic objectives that supports the clinical, retail, community, volunteer and administrative services of Mountbatten they will ensure human resources are maximised and supported to provide an outstanding quality of service to patients, families and those accessing services.
