In May 2020, King’s Mill Hospital, where 90% of our services are based, was rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission and is the only Outstanding hospital in the East Midlands. Newark Hospital and Mansfield Community Hospital are both rated Good and all 15 of our services are rated Good for Safety with five Outstanding services.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic individuals who are committed to excellence in Geriatrics to join a pro-active team with an excellent clinical reputation in providing a range of services within the hospital and the community. The consultant team delivers a high quality needs related service to frail and older patients wherever they are. The team uses their knowledge and experience to lead and influence the development of services for the frail elderly both within the Trust and in the community.

We are looking for applicants with interests in any of the following sub specialties;

* Dementia
* Falls 
* Ortho Geriatrics 
* Acute/Front door Geriatrics
* Medical Education

Applicants with other sub-specialty areas of interest may also be considered.

We are also able to offer an attractive recruitment package to include:

* Named Mentor for the first year of employment to facilitate settling in to the new working environment
* Additional allocation of SPA time within the job plan for the first 2 years in order to allow time for service development (typically 7.5:2.5 split between DCC and SPA time)

You will join the department at a time of rapid growth and Geriatrics service development across the whole local health system including primary care, secondary care and community care. You will have an opportunity to gain valuable experience of service transformation and development. 

Full registration with Specialist Registration and a license to practice with the GMC is essential. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR).The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team is also essential.
