Clinical Governance Manager

 

The Clinical Governance Manager is an experienced registered nurse with Management and Leadership skills to directly manage both employed and sub-contracted Nurses, including all HR functions and Nurse Rota’s.

 

The Clinical Governance Manager will also be the infection control and safeguarding lead for the organisation. They will be responsible for completing infection control site audits both for sign off and annual reviews, clinical infection control spot checks on staff working in clinical environments, complete safeguarding meetings with required stakeholders, undertake CQC audits, provide update to policies, processes and standard operating procedures, complete monthly audits, acknowledge, investigate and respond to clinical complaints and incidents.

 

The Clinical Governance Manager will participate in clinician due diligence and performance assessment to identify the potential for clinical risk, quality improvements, and opportunities to strengthen 

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing, health or management related studies.
  • A Masters level qualification/in progress or equivalent experience
  • Be an independent prescriber according to the CCG’s Non-medical prescribing policy
  • Band 7 Nurse experience
  • Excellent understanding of Healthcare regulations within the UK and clinical risk and governance processes
  • NHS/ Healthcare Clinical Governance and Audit experience.
  • Broad clinical experience relevant to the post, including specialist skills and experience in specialty.
  • Experience of running own clinics
  • A proven track record of clinical service management at a senior level in an acute hospital environment, including staff management, financial management and change management.
  • Demonstrate use of financial acumen in patient/client, team, organisational and system level decision-making and demonstrate appropriate strategies to enhance quality, productivity and value
  • Experience of teaching patients and staff and others including health promotion and prevention orientation
  • Demonstrate evidence of engaging stakeholders and influencing the development and improvement of practice, patient care and service delivery.
