Band 4/5 dependent on ACT qualification

Due to promotion we are looking to recruit self-motivated and enthusiastic technicians to our friendly team.

As a rotational technician your time will be divided between dispensary based rotations and medicines management duties.

Duties will include

  • Dispensing a variety of prescription types e.g. inpatient, TTA, outpatients, peripheral units and complex home IV and palliative care prescriptions
  • Counselling patients on use of medicines – both for outpatients and at ward level
  • Completing medicines management roles both on wards and via remote consultation for ‘Covid green pathways’

Previous accredited checking and medicines management experience desirable but not essential as full training can be given.

An in-depth in house competency programme is delivered with the opportunity to complete ACT qualifications to progress to band 5 (if not already an ACT) and introduction and opportunities for line management training and experience for those band 5’s who are looking to develop new skills.

Applications are welcome from both qualifying Pre Registration Pharmacy Technicians and qualified technicians from community or other sectors.

The successful applicant must have a strong attention to detail, ability to cope under pressure and be a strong team player.

  • To be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council or a Pre-Registration Student eligible for registration this summer
