Employer:
Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust
Department:
IM&T
Location:
Churchill Centre, Aylesford
Salary:

The NHS is changing. More emphasis on community-based care means there’s never been a better time to join us.

The CQC has rated us ‘outstanding’ and says that our colleagues feel supported, valued and respected, with high levels of staff and patient satisfaction.

Our vision is to deliver excellent local services which improve the health of our communities. To do this we need outstanding people who share our values (CARE). CARE stands for:

  • Compassionate
  • Aspirational
  • Responsive
  • Excellent

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust and Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Infrastructure Architect for a three month period.

As the NHS begins to restart and reset the services that it delivers as an outcome of its response to the Covid-19 pandemic, there is a need for both Trusts to review and assess the suitability and operation of their underlying IT infrastructure (including date centres, servers, networks, telephony and security).

Both Trusts are developing a range of reset plans for the clinical and corporate services that they operate, which include a number of proposals for how and where staff will work, be this working in clinical and corporate sites, remotely whilst visiting patients in their own homes or, where appropriate, directly from employees own homes.

The Trusts have implemented and updated a number of digital solutions over the recent period to support these reset plans and the new ways of working that they will enable; these include video conferencing solutions, remote access to network, server and telephony resources all supported by a move away from desktop devices to laptops and mobile solutions for our staff.

As individual services develop the next stage of their reset plans, both Trusts need to review the underlying IT infrastructure that we have in place over the coming months to ensure that this meets our current and future needs.

To undertake this three month review, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, confident and experienced Senior Infrastructure Architect who has a proven track record of delivering and managing a range of IT infrastructure services and solutions.

We’ll expect you to maintain a high profile within both organisations, engaging with senior Divisional and non-clinical staff about Trust reset plans, understanding the user experience and using this knowledge to inform the development of improvement plans for the IT infrastructure.

The successful candidate will need:

  • specialist knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies including networks, data centres and security systems, gained from significant operational management experience in large complex organisations;
  • to be educated to Master’s level in a technical or computer science related subject or equivalent, or a substantial level of equivalent work experience, with significant experience of solution / enterprise architecture within large scale projects, programmes and organisations.

For an informal discussion about this role please contact Morfydd Williams, Director of IT on 01622 227431.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to take part in the Trust’s Assessment Centre process prior to interview.

This post is a fixed term position for 3 months, secondment would be considered.

Interviews will be held weeks commencing 24th August 2020 and 31st August 2020.
