We are looking for experienced phlebotomists (blood takers) to support us with volunteer blood testing at sites around Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and north Essex. This will be for an initial 8 week period (as required) and will cover the testing of staff working in social care and care homes.

You must have at least 3 – 6 months blood taking experience and be able to drive (with own transport) – as our “pop up” clinics occur at different locations on different days.

Applicants from the Ipswich, Suffolk and Colchester areas who are able to work afternoon shifts 1 – 5 pm, any Monday, Wednesday or Friday in August are most welcome to apply.

Flexible working to cover short-notice absence will be a huge advantage. An ability to stick to strict working protocols must be demonstrated and is an essential part of the role.

Applicants who present a professional appearance and caring attitude who put patients at the heart of what they do are actively encouraged to apply. An initial induction period will be provided, but we are unable to provide phlebotomy training to those who have no previous experience.

Interview Date: Via telephone TBC

NHS Professionals is run by the NHS, for the NHS

NHS Professionals (NHSP), owned by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), works in partnership with hospital trusts to provide a bank of highly skilled temporary workers who want to work flexibly within the NHS. Working through the NHSP bank means trusts don’t have to rely on expensive agencies.

Right now, we have over 130,000 members registered on our bank from various roles, grades and specialities, saving the NHS over £70 million each year. This money is then reinvested back into the NHS. We serve Acute, Mental Health and Community Trusts across England, along with Social Enterprises.

Please note that you will be contacted via e-mail throughout the recruitment process, so please check your e-mails regularly.

We regret we cannot contact everyone who is not selected for an interview, therefore if you do not hear from us within 21 days after submitting your application, please assume you have not been successful on this occasion.
