East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group (ELRCCG) hosts a Complex Mental Health and Learning Disability Placement Team on behalf of Leicester City CCG, West Leicestershire CCG and East Leicestershire and Rutland CCG.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified mental health or learning disability nurse with current NMC registration to work within the ELRCCG in the management and oversight of individually commissioned mental health and learning disability placements. The current priority, in post, will be working with the review of Transforming Care Patients in line with Hosted Commissioner responsibilities.

It will involve managing care packages for people in specialist mental health and learning disability hospital beds and section 117 MHA bespoke packages. The focus will be to ensure patients receive the most appropriate and cost effective care when they require a specialist placement. There will be a considerable amount of lone working and regular travel of distances mainly across the East Midlands.

Successful applicants will have confidence in decision making, the ability to assertively challenge and an extensive knowledge around mental health / learning disability services and related legislation. Skills for nurturing key relationships and maintaining networks is important.

This is a varied role so it is essential the successful candidate has a flexible approach, positive attitude and is focused. It is important you can work both independently whilst contributing to the overall delivery of targets set for the team and the department.
