The Anaesthetics department is seeking to recruit a Consultant Anesthetist to join a Team 24 Consultant Anesthetists and 16 Associate Specialist/ Specialty Doctors and 8 intensivists

The Anaesthetics department is part of the Digestive Diseases Clinical Business Unit and has recently received a “Good” rating in the Trust 2019 CQC assessment with an assessment of “Outstanding” for Caring.

The Unit is led by a Consultant Clinical Lead, Lead Nurse and Matron supported by the Clinical Director and Clinical Business Unit Managers.

Applications are invited for a Consultant Anaesthetist at Warrington & Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Post is based in Anaesthesia with sessions allocated in Anaesthetics as per agreed job plan. The post holder will be required to contribute to the On-Call Rota which requires 7-day working on a 1:15 basis.

The post is a full time appointment (10.0 PAs) with 8.5 PAs of Direct Clinical Care and 1.5 for Supporting Professional Activity; in your first 6 months you will be afforded an additional 0.5 SPA to support new consultant development. Additional SPA can be negotiated for service and quality improvement roles.

The Departments equipment has all recently been upgraded with state of the art monitoring and ventilation systems.

The Trust has theatre complexes at three locations in Warrington hospital, Halton hospital and the trust dedicated Elective Centre at Cheshire Merseyside Treatment Centre on the Halton site. There is ample opportunity to work both flexibly and sub-specialise

A charge of £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.
