We have flexible Bank shifts and potential long-term placement opportunities available for Theatre Practitioners available at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust.

Band 5 pay rates are:

Days: £22.76 Saturdays/Nights: £29.59 Sunday/Bank Hols: £36.42

Who are NHS Professionals?

NHS Professionals (NHSP), owned by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), works in partnership with hospital trusts to provide a bank of highly skilled temporary workers who want to work flexibly within the NHS.

Working through the NHSP bank means Trusts don’t have to rely on expensive agencies. Right now, we have over 126,000 members registered on our bank from various roles, grades and specialities, saving the NHS over £70 million each year. This money is then reinvested back into the NHS.




To apply for these posts, you will:


  • Have a minimum of 6 months experience in a Theatre Practitioner/Registered Nurse in Theatre
  • Registered with NMC/HCPC
  • Perform comprehensive assessment of patient care needs.
  • Collect and evaluate report information and maintain accurate patient records, to enable effective care delivery.
  • Involve the multidisciplinary team and where possible patients, carers/relatives in the planning and delivery of care.
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
  • Seek/act on advice from a senior team member or relevant other, as appropriate.
  • Act always in accordance with Professional Code of Conduct and guiding documents.
  • Adhere to Trust Policies and Procedures.
