Fixed Term for one year, Maternity Cover

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Perfusion Scientist who works well under pressure who is looking to work in a busy Cardiac centre undertaking a full range of Perfusion techniques. The post gives the opportunity to become an important member of a team of 10.58 Perfusionists providing the most up to date techniques in Perfusion.

The post is fixed for one year to firstly cover Maternity Leave within the department, but there is a possibility this post could to be made permanent during that year to facilitate the East Midlands Paediatric Cardiac Unit moving to the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

The department currently undertakes 1200 adult and 400 neonatal/paediatric cases, along with 100 neonatal, paediatric and adult ECMO’s and IABP support.

You must be accredited by the Society of Perfusionists of Great Britain & Ireland and registered with the College of Clinical Perfusionists of Great Britain & Ireland, and it would be an advantage to be conversant with all relevant perfusion techniques. However, training will be given if necessary.

Participation in the department on-call rota is essential.

The department offers a 37.5 hour, 4-day working week and encourages personal development and research.
