An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent HCPC registered Clinical Scientist to join our innovative and dedicated Genomics team.

The Wessex Regional Genetics Laboratory is a key member of the Genomic Local Laboratory Network (GLLN) working with the Genomic Laboratory Hub (GLH) for the West Midlands, Oxford and Wessex Genomic Consortium, serving 11 million people across the region.

We are a UKAS accredited laboratory at the forefront of NHS Genomic Medicine, providing stateof-the-art integrated diagnostic testing services for the diagnoses of rare disease and cancer at a national and international level. The laboratory has a close association with the Wessex Clinical Genetics Service, the University of Southampton and hosts high profile basic academic research.

The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of human genetics and ability to critically analyse and interpret scientific data. They will join our diagnostic team who are committed to patient-centered service provision through accurate and timely data analysis, interpretation and reporting of genomic information, with the highest quality of attention to detail, to ensure that patient results are delivered in a safe and efficient way in order to direct patient management and therapeutic decisions. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills to ensure effective multi-disciplinary team-working and communicate complex information at an appropriate level to service users.

We invite applications from candidates who have (or are close to achieving) HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist with Cytogenetic or Molecular Genetic experience. Appointment to AFC band 7 or 6 would be dependent on qualifications, experience and HCPC registration. We are very much committed to

support attendance at national and international genomic conferences.
