Are you passionate about young people, families and mental health? Do you enjoy working as part of a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team? If so, a role at Leeds MindMate Single Point of Access may be for you!

MindMate SPA is a Leeds Community Healthcare hosted service that receives referrals for school age children and young people who need support with their emotional wellbeing or mental health. We receive referrals from professionals, families and young people by email, phone and online, and allocate them to the most appropriate service. The team comprises of administrative staff and clinicians. This is an exciting time for the service, with plans for further expansion and development which you would play a key role in supporting.

Following a service review, the MindMate SPA team is being expanded to meet the needs of children and young people across the city. As such, we have the opportunity to recruit to new band 6 clinicians to triage referrals and offer advice and support over the phone. We are happy to consider applications from anyone wishing to work part time (minimum 22.5 hours per week) to full time.

You will be required to regularly speak to children, young people and families; a confident and empathetic telephone manner and an ability to liaise with professionals from a variety of disciplines is vital.

Experience of working with young people, mental health services and risk management is key. Knowledge and/or experience of neurodevelopmental issues such as autism/ADHD and an understanding of young people's mental health services across Leeds would be an advantage.
We work across four databases (Mosaic, CareNotes, Systm1 and Synergy), so good IT skills are essential with the ability to accurately take notes while on the phone.

Applications are welcomed from clinicians with experience of working within the Leeds Cluster model, CAMHS practitioners, social workers or other professionals with experience of working with children and young people to support emotional wellbeing and mental health needs. You must have a relevant professional qualification and professional registration with the NMC, HCPC or other relevant governing body.

MindMate SPA is based in Leeds city centre at Merrion House with state-of-the-art facilities and easy access to public transport. Please be aware that we are unable to provide parking. Following a period of induction and training, we may be able to offer flexibility including home working on some days. The service currently operates from 9-5, Monday to Friday, but there is potential for this to be extended in the future.
