Staff Nurse – Acute Admissions Unit

Do you have a passion for looking after acutely ill patients?

If so, a position in the Acute Admissions Unit could be your perfect next step.

The Acute Admissions Unit (AAU) is a 39 bedded unit that includes the Ambulatory Unit. On average 30 patients can be admitted within a 24 period. Due to the fast paced nature of the department, candidates should be able to manage their time effectively.

Upon receiving the appropriate training AAU staff will be given the opportunity to rotate onto the Ambulatory Unit. The dedicated AAU team is made up of a group of professionals that includes nurses, doctors, health care support workers and administration staff.

We strive to provide high quality patient care whilst determining the need for inpatient admissions. This includes assessing a patient’s medical condition and organising appropriate tests and the management of a patient’s journey. This is all achieved by providing active management of medical conditions using the best available clinical evidence.

Our nursing staff and physicians work closely to provide outstanding, cutting edge care for our patients. Working within such an environment will nurture your potential and reward you with professional growth and career development!
