CONSULTANT PAEDIATRICIAN

with subspeciality interest Allergy

10 Programmed activities per week

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Paediatrician at Warrington Hospital. This post has become vacant due to a retirement. This is a DGH general paediatric job requiring Local Neonatal Unit level experience (level 2).

The successful candidate will join with the remaining ten consultants to provide general paediatric and neonatal services for the children of Warrington and Halton. The new Consultant will need to have a subspeciality interest in Allergy to run the paediatric Allergy service. An additional special interest like Neonatology is welcome. Applicants must have full registration with the GMC, hold MRCPCH or MRCP (Paeds) and are on or within six months of entry onto the Specialist Register. They must have suitable qualifications and experience.

The CQC (November 2017 report) has rated Services for Children and Young People as good. We offer a supportive and encouraging environment to develop as a professional. The post offers good experience in Peaditric allergy, neonates and safeguarding. The post includes some evening and weekend resident on-call sessions. The rota will consist of 1in 10 on calls including weekends.

A charge of £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.
