Deputy Director of Estates & Facilities (Operational Services)

Job Reference: 358-2534244-SR

Employer:
University Hospitals of Leicester
Department:
Estates & Facilities, Leicester Royal Infirmary
Location:
Leicester
Salary:
£91,004 - £104,927 per annum

This is a very exciting time for University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) and a particularly exciting time to join us in a leadership capacity. Following the development of our Quality Strategy, ‘Becoming the Best’, we have a clear vision and approach that we are confident will improve the care we deliver to our patients and allow us to achieve our ultimate goal; to provide Caring at its Best to every patient, every time.

‘Becoming the Best’ will involve a change in our approach to quality improvement, leadership and culture. It builds on what is already great about UHL but is also a major shift away from how we have done things in the past. It reflects how the best NHS organisations operate. Investing in our Estate, Services and delivering our Reconfiguration Programme, “Building the Best”, is a key component part of our new Quality strategy.

In September 2019 we received the fantastic news that our bid for funding as part of the governments Health Infrastructure Plan Phase 1 (HIP1) had been successful and our award of £450M will enable us to fundamentally transform our hospitals. As Senior Responsible Officer for our programme I’m excited at the opportunity this provides to build on the significant investment we have been delivering into our Estate over the past few years. We also have a very clear recognition by the Trust Board on the need to invest in our critical estate infrastructure.

This is a pivotal time in our team’s journey as we build on past successes and deliver our vision to become the best Estates and Facilities team.

The Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities (Operational Services) will have a key role to play in this journey. We are looking for someone of the highest calibre who understands the importance not only of sound estates and facilities management but also the role of E&F functions as key enablers to change and improvement. It is also essential that our new Deputy Director understands the crucial importance of working effectively as part of a wider, highly motivated team.
