Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, Family Young Person and Children's, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

We are seeking to recruit dynamic Nurses to work full time within our Crisis Team, a strong multi-disciplinary setting delivering a service for young people and their families / carers in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The individual appointed will work with children, young people and their families (up to 18 years), be confident in understanding the needs of clients with mental health needs and provide appropriate assessments / interventions / therapy and risk management strategies to support them. The Candidate will also need excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, organised and have a reflective and flexible approach to working with clients with complex needs.

As part of the development of CAMHS crisis team there has been a national request for the immediate establishment of 24/7 urgent NHS mental health telephone support, advice and triage service for children and young people (CYP) and their parents/carers, which has now been set up. This is to support patients who are in a mental health crisis and would ordinarily contact NHS 111, the GP or present at A&E, to instead access the NHS urgent mental health pathway/further support if needed.

Additionally there is a new dynamic service which has been set up at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit, in line with the national request and integrated into the crisis pathway to divert patients who are in a mental health crisis and would ordinarily be asked to present at A&E, may be taken to A&E by other emergency services or who may self-present.

There will be an expectation that out of hours support will be provided within this role, and that the post holder will be able to provide cover for the service Countywide, working on a shift pattern across a 24/7 basis including nightshifts and weekend working. The post holder will be required to work full time (37.5 hours) on an internal rotation, with shift patterns ranging from 08.00hr – 20.00r, 10.00hr – 22.00hr and 20.00hr – 0800hr.

LPT operate car lease and car salary sacrifice schemes subject to meeting the acceptance criteria.

Enquiries should be made to Astyn Tinkler Crisis Team Lead 0116 295 0485 or Melissa Parry Crisis Team Lead 01162950485.

We are committed to providing the best care that we can to our patients, and so some of our roles involve a Maths and English assessment. Where this is so, details will be shared with you as part of the recruitment process.

Details of our benefits, pledge and other important information about the application process, and working for us is contained in the documents linked to our advert.

For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, rosters are set in advance at a team level and you will be joining an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date. We will consider requests to vary working patterns in line with our flexible working policy.

To make the most of your application, we may consider successful applicants for vacancies for the same post in different locations where this is appropriate and meets our mutual requirements.

For all substantive roles the appointment of every new member of staff (excluding medical and dental staff) to a post is subject to a 6 month probationary period, details of which are in our Probation Policy.

We aim to develop a workforce that reflects our service users. To this end we actively implement equal opportunities in employment and service delivery and seek people who share our commitment. We strongly encourage applications from all sections of the community, particularly from underrepresented groups, including members of our black and minority ethnic communities. All jobs will require permission to work in the UK.

For all jobs the cost of undertaking a DBS disclosure at the required level will be met by the individual. This will be deducted from salary following commencement.

Requests from applicants to work alternative hours to those advertised may be considered.

Applicants who are currently ‘at risk’ within the local NHS, and meeting essential criteria will be given preference for interview over any other candidates who may apply for this post.
