Pharmacy Technician in General Practice

Job title: Pharmacy Technician

Salary: Band 5 - dependent on experience (pro rata)

Hours: Full time 37.5hours per week

Days: Monday to Friday

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pharmacy technician to join Central Liverpool PCN's expanding prescribing team and to work with the member practices which includes the Kensington, Marybone, Princess Park, Vauxhall, Abercrombie, St James, Dingle Park and The Elms. We wish to expand our pharmacy team to deliver high quality pharmacy services across our network. The team currently comprises of three pharmacists, which will shortly expand to five, with the further addition of a senior pharmacist.

This is an exciting time to be involved in general practice and to be part of shaping primary care for the future.

Main Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking a Pharmacy technician preferably with previous experience of working in primary care.
  • This exciting new post comes with the benefit of being situated within some training practices with many years’ experience of training GP’s, Nurses and other health professionals thus providing a support rich environment to establish this new way of working. Rarely in the NHS does an opportunity arise to be part of a brand new team and way of working at the cutting edge of primary care medicine
  • The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team in a patient-facing role.
  • To support the Primary Care Network to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and efficient systems for repeat prescribing, medication review, medicines optimisation, reducing medicines waste and maximising patient outcomes.
