The hub of the Trust is located on the outskirts of Nuneaton and its services cover a large footprint, including north Warwickshire, south west Leicestershire, and north Coventry. We also provide primary and community services across Coventry, Warwickshire and Leicestershire.

The Role

As part of the George Eliot’s continued commitment to ExCEL in patient care, we are looking for dynamic, forward thinking therapists to support patients on our new surgical wards (both General Surgery and Trauma and Orthopaedics)

The roles, which are for the General Surgery wards, although predominantly ward based, will also include out-patient work-in particular developing pre-operative assessment clinics, plus post-operative classes for both elective and trauma patients, including amputees. Both roles will require respiratory skills, with some ITU care skills involved.

The part time role is mainly based on the female gynaecological ward-with this role there is the potential to undertake further gynaecological care of patients in the out-patient setting, depending on the individual and the needs of the service.

Supervision will be provided by Team Lead and continuous development is supported through appraisal, internal training and external learning; part of your role will be to provide supervision and mentorship to Technical Assistants, Band 5 therapists and students (from time to time).

We are looking for enthusiastic therapists who are able to embrace the challenges and opportunities of working in an acute setting, who is able to take on a dynamic post and see the rewards of investing in a team that sits as one of the hospitals main priorities.

A flexible approach to day to day tasks is essential in order to meet the demands of the service especially as the role is to cover 7 days. Applicants will be expected to travel when necessary to participate in providing community services, such as Home Visits
