The Children's Business Unit is looking to recruit to 1.4wte posts (flexibility from applicants is welcomed) to lead on our complex needs portfolio. The complex needs portfolio currently consists of our Integrated services for Children with Additional Needs (ICAN) and our Children's Nursing teams.
However, our ambition is to deliver a more coordinated and inclusive suite of Health Offers for children and young people such as behaviour, communication, eating and drinking, continence, mental health and wellbeing across the business unit and wider Leeds system which will allow for greater flexibility in how our leadership team is structured.

The successful candidates will join an established team of Heads of Service managed by the General Manager; a senior strategic Clinical Lead and a Business Manager. The Children's Business Unit supports children, young people and their families from 0-18 years of age (25 for complex needs)and includes universal services, complex needs services and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHs).

Key responsibilities of the posts include budget holding, line management, delivering on performance indicators/measures and liaising with commissioners. As important is an ambitious vision for delivering services with children and young people (CYP) at the centre of design and delivery.

To be shortlisted for interview candidates should have skills and experience in budget holding, the broad spectrum of senior operational management and the energy and commitment required to transform services. The Business unit is committed through its CYP Strategy to delivering services that CYP and their families value and feel part of - experience of co-designing services and a lively, genuine approach to patient engagement are all skills essential to these posts.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
