Trainee Nursing Associate

Then the Trainee Nursing Associate role could be for you.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our new cohort of Trainee Nursing Associates (TNA) in both Adults and Children’s areas. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high quality, patient-centred care, bridging the gap between the role of the care support worker and registered nurse.

This programme is part of our Future You career development programme where you can complete the TNA programme and if desired, complete the Transfer to nursing programme to become a Registered Nurse within 5 years. See attached slide for illustration.

This is an apprenticeship where you will have the opportunity to ‘’earn while you learn’’ throughout the duration of the programme. You will be employed in a two-year Trainee Nursing Associate role on a fixed term contract at Leeds Teaching Hospitals (LTHT) and undertake your academic studies at either Leeds Beckett University or the Open University please specify on your application form which university you would prefer to attend.

We are looking to recruit for our next cohort in February 2021.

Entry requirements are:

External candidates; Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent and Level 3 diploma in a health related topic or equivalent. 12 months Healthcare experience is essential.

Candidates employed by LTHT: Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent. Level 2 diploma in Clinical Support Worker with 12 months post qualification experience working as a Clinical Support Worker at Band 2.

*Please note if you are an overseas candidate you will require a minimum combined score of 6 for IELTS with no skill below 5.5 to achieve university entry. Details of where to go for more information can be found on the attached power point presentation.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
