111/999 Clinical Advisor - Integrated Care Hub

£31,365-£37,890 (Band 6)

Full Time Permanent Position

Are you looking for a development in your clinical career? Are you a qualified nurse or paramedic with current registration? To join us you will require at least 2 years post registration experience in relevant health care setting or speciality. If you are passionate about helping others and want to make a difference, we want to hear from you.

The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are seeking to recruit a Clinical Advisor to work in our Integrated Care Hub which operates 24 hours a day 365 days a year responding to 111 and 999 calls.

Working within the Integrated Care Hub you will carry out complex clinical triage in a sensitive manner providing assessment, advice and information in line with clinical assessment software whilst utilising professional judgement and referring to other agencies where appropriate.

This role would be suitable for a paramedic or nurse, with current HCPC or NMC registration, as well as recent triage experience and ideally experience in a call centre environment such as NHS Direct or those already NHS Pathways trained. In addition to this, commitment to team working, computer literacy and the ability to remain calm under pressure are also essential requirements. If you meet these criteria, and are looking for a new challenge we would love to hear from you.

We are particularly interested to hear from you if you can offer flexibility around shift patterns, with key service demands at evening, weekends and over Bank Holidays.

You will be required to complete a seven weeks full-time training course. This covers full training in our systems, including training in NHS Pathways, one week of training in call taking then one week’s clinician course training followed with coaching and support. You will be supported in the call centre by Team Leaders, Clinical Advisor's and Clinical Managers.
