Leeds, the UK’s third largest city, has a bold ambition to create ‘one Leeds workforce’ across all of its health and care services. The Academy is a ground-breaking collaboration of health, care, university and college partners across Leeds to create a single, joined up approach for innovative learning and development for the 57’000 staff working in health and care in the city. ‘One workforce’ is about better ways of working to benefit the people of Leeds and is about the people employed in health and care working as if they were one, city-wide team.


The Academy launched in April 2019 and now, with a core team in place and a newly appointed Joint Director, we are seeking a self-motivated, versatile, delivery focused Administrative Assistant to join us. This is an exciting and unique role to help deliver a vibrant programme of work across Leeds in a forward thinking environment.


The Role:

The role supports the core team with administrative duties relating to the delivery of the Academy’s portfolio and will also include providing PA support to the Joint Director. In addition to details in the Job Description, day to day activities will include:

  • Being the first point of contact for all Academy communications

  • Providing effective PA support to the Joint Director as required

  • Carrying out a wide range of general administrative duties including organising meetings and sourcing venues across Leeds

  • Problem solving and offering solutions

  • Developing strong relationships with key partners across the system to enable effective partnership working

  • Working independently to manage your own workload and using initiative to adhere to timescales and deadlines, escalating and seeking guidance appropriately.
  • Providing secretariat duties for meetings including preparing agendas, maintaining action logs, monitoring attendance etc as well as setting up virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

  • Well-developed knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages mainly Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Raising orders for goods and services ensuring that accurate records are maintained

The Leeds Health and Care Academy is a project of the Leeds Academic Health Partnership and is hosted by The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT)

If you are offered a position, you may be required to undertake a DBS. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment. DBS checks for volunteers are free.
