Would you like to join a well-established, friendly, dynamic and innovative team, and develop competency in Rheumatology?

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust delivers excellent care at the heart of the community. We are looking for a new colleague, interested in a development role, who shares our ambition and drive to deliver compassionate, collaborative, coordinated care.

We currently have a vacancy for a Band 5 Nurse Development Post within the Rheumatology department. The successful candidate will receive education, training and regular supervision with the opportunity to advance to a Band 6 position on completion of work-based competencies.

You will be responsible for delivering compassionate care to patients, and supporting the existing staff within the infusion suite to undertake day case treatments. Additional learning opportunities will arise in early arthritis education and biologic clinics, as well as for the nurse-led Rheumatology advice line.

The Rheumatology service is part of our wider, integrated MSK service, including chronic pain, therapies, and the musculoskeletal interface service (MATT). This integration provides extensive opportunities for learning, as well as improvements in care through joined-up pathways.

We have regular in-service training sessions across MSK - both Rheumatology-specific and MDT-led - and a supportive supervision structure that enables staff to achieve skills and develop their experience.

Our department is open between 8am-6pm Monday-Friday, exclusive of Bank Holidays.

Our Trust is committed to supporting the ongoing professional development of all its staff. As a team we work continually to strive for excellence by working together to build on our knowledge and develop the service.
