The Community Respiratory COPD team is looking for a part time (22.5 hours) Band 7 specialist nurse to join their team.

The successful candidate will be aligned to a specific area within West Kent locality, and provide a proactive & responsive service to patients with COPD.

Candidates will demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of the management of COPD and provide evidence of extended learning at Diploma level.

The successful candidate should demonstrate clinical leadership, specialist skills and knowledge, having had a number of years working at a band 6 level in this specialty. They should ideally have experience of managing patients experiencing an exacerbation of their COPD, both in the hospital and in the community setting.

Candidates with the NMP qualification will be preferred, however those prepared to undertake a non-medical prescribing qualification will be considered.

Ideally we are looking for a clinician with respiratory experience from previous acute medical, and community roles, who has a broad knowledge base of respiratory patients, including the assessment and treatment of COPD patients.

It would be beneficial to have previous experience or knowledge of pulmonary rehabilitation, spirometry and knowledge and the management of home oxygen.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, and be able to work autonomously, as well as working well within a team.
