Consultant Community Paediatrician

Sheffield Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

The Community Paediatric Team are looking for a new team member who is innovative, dynamic and passionate about delivering excellent care. This post is part of a reconfiguration of how community paediatrics and neurodisability services are provided in Sheffield and the development of an additional role within a forward-thinking Looked After and Adoptive Children’s Health team.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an expanding community paediatric team who are passionate about developing new ways of working to meet the increasing demand for developmental services. Sheffield Children’s Foundation Trust is leading both locally on the ACP Children’s Transformation Health and Wellbeing Board and regionally on the ICS. The post holder will have the opportunity to help shape how the community paediatricians in Sheffield input into the increasingly recognised prevention and public health agenda and into developing new services and pathways to ensure children, young people and families receive the support they need at the right time at the right level.

Other areas of clinical interest could potentially be accommodated subject to service requirements.

There is a weekly rolling departmental business and CPD programme including MDT referrals meetings, Child Development team meetings, CPD sessions and peer review as well as regular supervision/reflection sessions delivered by clinical psychology and departmental audit meetings.

Applicants must hold a full licence to practice with the GMC and be on the specialist register.

Applicants must be a holder of a certificate of completed training (CCT) or be within 6 months of award of CCT at the date of interview.
