Single Point of Referral Team (SPOR)

Band 6

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

The Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust provides a range of services across the Black Country including Sandwell. Sandwell is located near to Birmingham and its population is very diverse and unique. Sandwell mental health community services have undergone service transformation, our vision is to lead and inspire through excellence, compassion and expertise in all that we do! Our purpose is to provide integrated healthcare services that empower people to make the most of their lives.

The Single Point of Referral team is located in our Quayside Site in Oldbury. The service operates Monday to Friday between 09.00 – 17.00. The SPOR team is the initial point of access for all adult mental health referrals in Sandwell. We are responsible for screening and triaging all urgent and routine referrals, along with conducting full comprehensive assessments.

As a RMN, you will be competent in the assessment and management of clinical risk associated with mental health concerns. You will have a sound knowledge of common mental problems, and the evidenced based treatment options. We are looking for highly skilled nurses who are confident in undertaking comprehensive assessments, and can make decisions about appropriate onward referral.

You will also have a strong commitment to service delivery, excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as influencing and negotiating skills, a creative approach to problem solving and the ability to prioritise under pressure, against a background of competing demands and high expectations.
