Thoracic Surgery Junior Clinical Research Fellow Trust Grade (FY2/ CT Level) Doctor

The Thoracic Surgery Department at UHL are inviting applications for a Junior Clinical Research Fellow Trust Grade Doctor (FY2/CT Level) 12 month fix term contract with possible extension. The post holder will be on the FY2/CT rota and will be based in the thoracic surgery department. They will have 50% research time and 50% clinical time. This post will offer aspiring cardiothoracic surgeons the extra experience in the specialty as well as gain research experience. Trust Grade rotation within different specialties within UHL also available as an option after cardiothoracic surgery.

The post holders will be expected to participate in the delivery of clinical services and research activities within the department at UHL as well as opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge in the Thoracic Surgery Specialty. The Thoracic surgical department has a great track record on research with the University of Leicester on Biomarkers, Mesothelioma, lung cancer and surgery for Emphysema.

The post is full time and involves working on a Full On Call 1:9 Rota.
