SENIOR DIETITIAN – Paediatrics (0.8 Paediatric Allergy fixed & 0.2 General Paediatrics rotational)

Are you wanting to be a member of an expert and highly valued paediatric dietetic team in one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in the country? We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and active team player with good communication skills, who enjoys working with children, to join our dedicated team. The team provides a service to the Children’s & Women’s Clinical Management Group, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary site and is a great opportunity to develop expert knowledge and experience in specialist areas working as a high profile and valued team of 13 other Paediatric Dietitians (with a dedicated Paediatric Dietetic Assistant).

Within Allergy, you will be joining a multidisciplinary team comprising 3 Consultants, 2 Specialist Nurses and 2 Senior Dietitians providing specialist allergy advice in outpatient clinics, the day care food challenge programme, oral desensitisation and production of resources, along with input to medical staff and dietetic training and allergy study days. Audit and research is actively encouraged with opportunities to attend National and International conferences.

We are looking for an experienced Band 5 Dietitian with paediatric and/or allergy experience or a Band 6 Dietitian with existing experience in paediatrics wishing to specialise in the field of Paediatric Allergy. Some experience of food allergy (acute or community) will be an advantage. You will be fully supported by the Band 7 Specialist Dietitians.

Further responsibilities will include involvement in the pre-registration training of dietitians as we provide A, B, C clinical placements and you will play an active part in this.

We are a progressive service which actively contributes to Trusts and the national clinical governance agenda and has established clinical audit, R & D and policy/strategy programmes.

The service is committed to CPD and personal development and has well defined clinical supervision systems in place.
