We have a great opportunity to join our school immunisation teams to make a difference to child health in this location. VUK provide Fluenz, HPV, Men ACWY and DTP to schools in the boroughs of Haringey and Islington.

The service will primarily be delivered on-site in schools for children in primary and secondary schools in both boroughs, but due to the pandemic situation, we will also be delivering these immunisations in community clinic settings.

This will be on a Fixed Term contract from 1st August 2020 until 31st January 2021 to provide school aged immunisations including HPV and nasal flu immunisations across Haringey and Islington. The hours of work will be from 0830 until the end of the school day, or the immunisation session. You must be able to arrive on time and stay until needed.

We are seeking nurses for school and clinic sessions to start from August onwards. You just need to provide us with your availability, and there is the opportunity to work up to 5 days per week to suit you. As a result of the type of work we do, a flexible approach to working is required. In return, we are offering a very competitive hourly rate, a friendly and supportive working environment.

If you are an RN with an interest in child health, and have experience in giving immunisations, ideally with a practice nurse, school nurse or community nursing background, we would love to hear from you. You will have the opportunity to work both autonomously, and as part of a small team to organise, plan, deliver, and evaluate immunisation and vaccination programmes for this school - based programme.

We require you to have mandatory training in place which should include Safeguarding Children and Adults at level 2, FGM, Prevent and Immunisation Training.

This post is subject to all training being completed or with a completion date set prior to starting. Without this training, you will not be able to undertake this role. We can provide training for any of these areas that are not currently in date, with prior notice.

Knowledge of Health and Safety issues is essential. There will be substantial access to children; therefore, an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check will be required and sign up to the update service is part of our requirements.

We have 2 x Permanent roles and 6-8 Bank roles to cover planned work.

Interviews will be held remotely on Zoom or Teams due COVID-19 social distancing measures.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship

Applications from job seekers who require current Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the current Resident Labour Market Test which will be in place until the end of December 2020. UK Visas and Immigration requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
