We are looking to recruit a dynamic Matron to lead the nursing team and drive excellence within the Emergency Department. You will need to be a highly motivated, resilient, innovative and caring nurse leader with excellent communication and clinical skills. Applicants need to be able to demonstrate their suitability and experience for the position of ED Matron in their application.

You will need to be flexible, enthusiastic and passionate about emergency care, demonstrating a commitment to improving service delivery, providing excellent quality and safe patient care through the application of your leadership skills.

You will be part of the senior Team working within ED and be responsible for the professional and managerial leadership of the nursing team and the provision of expert clinical knowledge. In this role you will need to be able to, with the matron team, deliver 7 day senior decision making and leadership. As an integral member of the senior nursing team, you will work closely with other care group matrons, senior nursing teams, admin and clerical staff, Head of Nursing and Consultants.

The post holder will have to be educated to a minimum of degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience and ideally will hold a post graduate qualification or working towards a masters degree.
