An exciting opportunity to work at Basildon Trust University Hospital within the Surgical Division.

Applications are invited for a Senior Operational Manger - Admitted. The candidate must have rota and and RTT experience, preferably in Surgical Services or a willingness to learn.

Acute services are currently under revaluation within South Essex with collaboration between Basildon, Chelmsford and Southend as part of a regional STP (Sustainability and Transformation plan).

The post holder will be based in the Surgical Division at Basildon Site however will be asked to occasionally visit Orsett Hospital.

Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Trust has an on-going commitment to first class service delivery, innovative long term initiatives and a great emphasis on teaching and training.

The post-holders will be managed by the Associate Director of Operations for Surgical Services. Flexible working will be determined based on the successful individual and service needs.

The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Service Unit Managers and the Access team. Responsible for the 18 week admitted pathway to support BTUH’s patients being treated timely. Support the theatre rota and lead on 642. Line management of the administrative POD’s – Patient Pathway Co-ordinators, Patient Pathway Assistant and Typists

The Divisional Management team is led by the Clinical Directors, Associated Director of Operations – Surgical Services and the Head of Nursing. Each CSU is led by a Clinical Director.

This Trust provides acute hospital services to a population of 400,000+ people across South West Essex. In addition, the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre based at Basildon University Hospital is among the most modern centres of its kind, providing specialist diagnostics and treatment for people with cardiovascular and respiratory disease. The trust is situated in the South of England offering easy access to London and the national motorway network. The area also offers a wealth of living environments, whether you enjoy the hustle and bustle of large towns or the tranquillity of picturesque villages and outdoor life.
