Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise (PDSE) is an award winning Community Interest Company that works closely with the University of Plymouth’s Peninsula Dental School to oversee the clinical education of its dental students and provide NHS treatment and outreach services to local communities.

Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise is seeking to appoint a Dentist on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave (12 months).

  • 2-3 days per week (negotiable)
  • Pay will be dependent on qualifications and experience

The post holder will provide high quality NHS dental services within a dental education facility. Patients may be referred via student teaching clinics, either for treatments more complex than can be managed by students, or to complete courses of treatment which cannot be completed by students because of time constraints. You may also be involved in triage sessions to identify suitable patients for students to treat. You may occasionally be required to supervise the clinical training of BSc Dental Therapy and Hygiene students and Dental undergraduate students. This will include supporting the development of technical skills and also the development of knowledge and skills in infection control and professional behaviour. Your work will be supported by qualified or trainee dental nurses, with a full range of equipment, digital x-ray, etc.

You must be registered with the GDC, have completed Dental Foundation training and hold a valid performer number.
