Are you an Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) professional who is looking for an amazing opportunity to develop your IPC skills?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a person who is passionate about IPC to lead the IPC team within the South Western Ambulance Service.

This interesting post involves:

  • Managing a small, experienced IPC team
  • Providing guidance, information and advice on practices relating to infection prevention and control issues
  • Providing advice and guidance around maintaining a safe environment for patient care is implemented and that ambulance clinicians are encouraged to use the infection prevention and control service as a valuable resource
  • Assisting clinical staff in the trialling of new products and equipment around infection prevention and control
  • Working closely with the multi-disciplinary teams within the Trust and external IPC Teams.
  • Dealing with external contracts
  • Leading a programme of change, working with ops teams across the region to help improve IPC compliance 
  • Supporting compliance with CQC regulations

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have significant IPC experience,
  • Be a clear communicator and a keen negotiator who is passionate about creating simple, effective communications which motivate, enthuses and inspires change in a complex and sometimes challenging environment
  • Be enthusiastic about supporting and delivering high quality and informative training across the Trust, using your skills and knowledge of IPC to enthuse all involved  

The post involves travel across the south west covering beautiful rural settings, beach towns and countryside. No week will be the same and you will get to see a wide variety of settings from cities to towns and beyond.

You will be able to work independently and as part of a small, dedicated team of professionals.

You will be able to work with different staff groups across the Trust, supporting them and advising them through training sessions.

The interview process will involve an Online assessment on 17th August 2020, followed by an Interview on 18th August 2020.
