Band 3 Senior Healthcare Assistant – Inpatient Adult Medical Wards

The Medicine and Emergency Services Division is expanding

The Division is preparing to open 3 new Adult Medical Wards on the St Peter’s Hospital site and is now recruiting for Band3 SeniorHealth Care Assistants

The team encourages staff to develop both clinically and personally and we provide a comprehensive induction programme and in-house training, with opportunities for future development.

Duties for this post will include supporting the registered nursing teams in providing patient care, clinical duties such as assisting patients with personal hygiene needs, meeting patient’s nutritional needs, undertaking observations, supporting new and junior staff and extended roles such as venepuncture following appropriate training.

We are looking for Health Care Assistants with a minimum of 2 years’ experience caring for patients in an acute clinical setting, with an NVQ or equivalent in Health and Social Care. This role is an essential part of the nursing team and requires someone who is reliable, caring and compassionate. Working with the multi-disciplinary team, you will need to have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and basic computer skills.

The post is full time and includes weekday, weekend and bank holiday working as well as rotation on to nights.
