Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (the UHB) is a Smoke Free Health Board. Smoking is banned across all of the UHB sites. Staff are therefore not able to smoke in the hospital grounds or on any other UHB premises.

Are you a Health and Safety leader who can be responsible for guiding an entire Organisation to adopt, implement and follow sound safety practices? Can you demonstrate a genuine concern for people? Do you have a pro-active approach to safety culture?

As Head of Health and Safety at Cardiff and Vale UHB you will lead on all Health and Safety Management strategies for the Health Board. Providing assurance to the Health Board regarding compliance with its Health and Safety statutory duties.

We are looking to recruit an experienced leader who can demonstarte a wide range of experience from across different sectors, who can establish guidelines with a strong sense of responsibility and resilience; can develop, communicate and execute plans, anticipate potential risk and develop new ways of achieving the same outcomes putting rules and regulations aside using your level of competence and knowledge.

The right candidate will have extensive experience of working in the field of health, safety and risk management whilst also being able to demonstrate excellent people management skills, experience of managing a team is essential.
