Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the UK’s leading heart and lung hospital, treating around 50,000 patients each year. We are located in a new, purpose-built hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, with administrative services based in Huntingdon.

Founded as a tuberculosis colony in 1918, Royal Papworth Hospital has established an international reputation for excellence in research and innovation. Since carrying out the UK’s first successful heart transplant in 1979, the hospital now performs more heart, heart-lung and lung transplants each year than any other UK centre.

In addition to transplantation, Royal Papworth Hospital has the UK’s largest Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre (RSSC) and is one of five UK centres providing Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) to patients experiencing severe respiratory failure. It is also the only centre in the UK for a number of specialist services including Pulmonary Endarterectomy and Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty (BPA).

Following Royal Papworth’s relocation to a State-of-the-Art New Hospital in 2019 we are seeking enthusiastic Band 5 Radiographers to join our expanding team.

Cambridge is a beautiful and engaging University city with great character and much to offer socially and culturally. It is ideally situated in the East of England, making it a perfect location for accessing other areas of the UK.

The post holder will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide an excellent service to our patients and stakeholders. You should be flexible, organised and possess a friendly and professional manner. You will be working in General Imaging including radiographer led Videofluoroscopy and theatre with some scope for rotation into specialised areas (CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Cath Labs and DEXA)

You must be able to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team. You should also possess a willingness to take part in the seven day working pattern.
