Assistant Business Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Management Accounts department for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill the post of Assistant Business Accountant.


The successful candidate will support the implementation of procedures that enable effective financial management and efficient use of resources across Clinical Business Units in Planned Care.


This role is integral to the production of monthly financial management information and the budget setting process. This is a key role in providing assistance and advice in managing budgets, planning service developments, identifying and achieving Cost Improvement Programme opportunities and supporting business cases for capital and revenue developments


The role will involve working closely with clinical and operational colleagues and we expect the successful applicant to be solutions focused, organisedand highly motivated.We are also looking for:

  • Strong management accounts experience
  • Part qualified CCAB/CIMA or equivalent experience
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Strong IT skills, competent in the use of Microsoft Office and computerised ledger system.
  • Methodical and high attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, highly self motivated and comfortable with leading budget meetings
  • Continuous improvement of processes and new ways of working
  • Ability to manage a wide range of finance tasks and delivering high quality work to month end deadlines

A charge of £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.
